The Faculty of Management Studies (FMS)
has been established by the Janardan Rai Nagar
Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University as a constituent Management department to run two years full time
MBA Programme from the academic year 1996 at its Pratap Nagar Campus, Udaipur. It has constituted an Academic Advisory Board (AAB-FMS). The members of AAB govern and advice on all the academic activities at FMS. |

Objective of MBA Programme :
 The MBA aFMS to provide a career development programme for practicing managers to enhance and develop their strategic management and executive skills in an organizational context. The overall aim of the programme is to balance theoretical analysis with practical application, hence developing a critical and questioning approach to the conceptual under-pinnings of management.
The programme structure brings to the fore front current thinking in management education, to enable participants to acquire both discipline and skill bases. This will allow students to both add value and demonstrate a working knowledge of strategic management and executive skills, in a wide range of organizations.
The MBA structure fosters an integrated learning approach to management education, reflecting the increasingly holistic nature of manager's role in today's society. The FMS MBA has evolved to cater for the emerging concern and developing needs of managers in the 21stcentury. The core objectives of MBA programme at FMS are: |

| • To equip the students with required conceptual framework, interpersonal skills and the essence of team work for managerial decision-making and implementation. |
| • To acquaint our participants with rapid developments in the area of management techniques by conduction and promotion of innovative research as well as indigenous literature in management. |

| Our Culture |

  Culture is a part of human history and has a sizable contribution in making life vibrant and colourful. Similarly, the hues of culture have made FMS more vibrant. FMS has regularly been conducting fest & festivals. Students of FMS have also represented their alma mater on various platforms like in National Competitions of Management students for All India Paper presentation competition conducted byAIMA, and "Unifest" at PIM.
Every year FMS organizes a Mega festival of Management by the name of Aura in which approximately 350 management students from all over India participate. Last year the accolades went to R.A. Poddar Jaipur for getting maximum prizes. Participatory teams are IIIM Jaipur, R.A. Poddar Jaipur, Gurukul Kangri University, Dehradun & Haridwar & all the Management Institutes of Udaipur. Along with the mental juggling, physical juggling was also given due position for which FMS organized sports day in Feb. in Fields Club where the faculty & students visited the alleys of childhood by playing various games. Industrial visit to J.K. Tyres was a combination of education & fun rolled together in one. |

| National Seminar |

 A very important milestone of the academic session 2009-
2010 at Faculty of Management Studies was the organizing of
an AICTE sponsored National Seminar. The seminar was on
the contemporary theme “Retail Transition in India : Prospects
& Retrospects” on January 29-30, 2010.
The two day national seminar turned out to be a grand
success, with a very appreciable participation of eminent academicians, scholars & management faculty members from all over India. More than 200 delegates including 55 delegates from various states of India deliberated in the seminar. Professors, faculty members and Research scholars from Nainital, Mumbai, Aurangabad, Ujjain, Gwalior, Noida, Pune, Jhansi, Banaras, Vadodara, Anand, Harjana, Kota, Aligarh etc. graced the convergence, along with a large number of students, research scholars and faculty memebers of various management Institutes of Udaipur and Retail industry representatives.
A large number of papers and abstracts were received for the seminar from all over India. The two day seminar consisted of four technical sessions on different dimensions of Indian Retail Industry, 51 paper presentations were made in these four technical sessions. |

Under the leadership of Seminar Chairman Prof. Rajeev Jain, this grand event was conducted. The inaugural session of the seminar was chaired by Prof. Divya Prabha Nagar, honourable vice chancellor, JRN Rajasthan Vidyapeeth (Deemed) University, chief guest Shri N.K. Jain , Ex-Vice Chancellor, University of Rajasthan and keynote speaker was Prof. Parimal H. Vyas, Head, Department of Commerce including Business
Administration. The Maharaja Sayaji Rao Universtiy of Baroda, Vadodara. The valedictory session was chaired by Shri Virendra Siroya, Chairman, Udaipur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Udaipur. Chief guest was Dr. J.K. Tayalia, Director, Darshan Dental College and keynote speaker was Prof. Badar Alam Iqbal, Chairman, Department of Commerce, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh

| The seminar resulted into convergence of diverse view points from all over India in form of conceptual and Research papers, power point presentations and panel discussions on the subject “Retail Transition in India :Prospects & Retrospects.” Along with this intellectual exchange the delegates were taken for local tour of significant tourist spots of Udaipur followed by a refreshing and entertaining evening dinner at Mewari theme resort ‘Apni Dhani’. A souvenir of the seminar has been published and a book based on seminar proceedings is in pipeline. The successful mega event show cased the team spirit of the FMS faculty and staff members. |
